Gus Bilirakis Supports Torture

Gus supports torture. He voted "NO" on the Intelligence Authorization Act which would have banned "waterboarding, mock executions, and other severe methods of interrogation."

I sure hope he is held accountable for this vote when he runs for re-election next year.

Gus Bilirakis LOVES being dependent on Middle East oil (No wonder he supports the immoral war in Iraq!)

How else to explain Gus' NO vote on H. R. 6 to "Create Long-Term Energy Alternatives for the Nation Act" which would:

"...move the United States toward greater energy independence and security, to increase the production of clean renewable fuels, to protect consumers from price gouging, to increase the energy efficiency of products, buildings, and vehicles, to promote research on and deploy greenhouse gas capture and storage options, and to improve the energy performance of the Federal Government..."

Be Afraid, Very Afraid....So Says Gus Bilirakis

Predictable fear-mongering from Gus Bilirakis.

In response to the arrest on terror charges of two students from the University of South Florida, Gus wants to further crack down on foreign students by requiring more vigilance on the part of university officials. Just think, pretty soon, if we pander enough to the fraidy-cat Americans, there won't be any brown people coming to our shores to study! Oh, how happy Lou Dobbs will be!! (Or is it only Mexicans that Lou hates? It's so hard to keep up...)

Seriously folks, isn't this getting ridiculous? Every time I go through airport security and have to remove my clogs, I realize how the stupid (and inept) actions of one purported shoe bomber have terribly inconvenienced a multitude of travelers.

It makes me realize that the terrorists have truly won.
